Factors influencing production loss in salmonid farming

چکیده
Using a unique dataset, this paper investigates factors influencing production loss in Norwegian salmonid farming. The can be grouped into fish-specific (e.g. species, genetics, and generation), input vaccines smolt quality), environmental geographical location), managerial ownership). most important result is likely that losses to large extent are explainable, as our best model has an R2 high 0.826. This implies it possibile reduce significantly. For the specific factors, loss, but their effect varies by site. Production also with which plant providing juvenile fish, indicating there systematic quality variation among providers of smolt. There significant between companies sites, on average lower for larger sea sites holding numbers fish. An point while some explaining controlled individual company, others beyond control. Some these external related regulatory system.

BACKGROUND AND AIM Significant bone loss develops in the first months and continues years after spinal cord injury. A cross - sectional comparative study was performed to evaluate factors influencing bone loss in spinal cord injured men with paraplegia. PATIENTS AND METHODS We studied 31 paraplegic men in chronic stage (>1.5 years) in comparison with 30 able-bodied men of similar age, height,...
متن کاملFactors influencing in vitro embryo production
In vitro embryo production (IVP) is currently one of the most important biotechnologies in cattle breeding and husbandry. However, the efficiency of in vitro embryo production is still low with only 30-40% of oocytes developing into blastocysts, probably because, the in vitro environment cannot mimic in vivo environment and results in embryos that have altered morphology and gene expression. Se...

Fisheries catches worldwide have shown no increase over the last two decades, while aquaculture has been booming. To cover the demand for fish in the growing human population, continued high growth rates in aquaculture are needed. A potential constraint to such growth is infectious diseases, as disease transmission rates are expected to increase with increasing densities of farmed fish. Using a...
متن کاملFactors influencing the loss of virulence in Pasteurella pestis.
It was found in a previous investigation that various virulent strains of Pasteurella pestis showed a reduction in virulence in aerated broth at 37 C whenever several generations of growth occurred either from small inocula (104 cells/ml) or after repeated passage using larger inocula (Fukui, et al., 1957b). This attenuation seemed to be caused by growth conditions favoring the selection of avi...
